What roofers can claim

The everyday costs of being on the tools come off your taxable profit, and most of these get missed. That’s where your refund hides.

CIS refunds in Nottingham

Nottingham's work runs through the city centre and the student blocks around it, with housing and industrial jobs spread across the county behind that. Between the two, most subbies here are changing sites regularly, and the tools travel with them.

The East Midlands runs on distribution sheds, housing and road work, and a lot of it is done by self-employed subbies moving between sites around Nottingham, Leicester and Derby. Under CIS, 20% is deducted at source whatever your real costs were.

Construction accounts for around 175,000 jobs in the East Midlands — about 7.0% of all jobs in the region.
If you've overpaid, there's a four-year time limit to claim it back — you can normally go back up to the last four tax years.
