Who we are

Quibo is a product of Allen Living Limited, a company registered in England & Wales (Companies House number 14787139). In these terms, "Quibo", "we", "us" and "our" mean Allen Living Limited.

Quibo is software, not a tax agent. We help you do the slow, fiddly part (the digging, the sorting and the paperwork), but you file your own claim with HMRC and you remain responsible for it. We are not your accountant and we don't replace regulated tax advice.

When we charge

On the standard calculator journey, we charge when you confirm the one-off fee at the return step. Once payment succeeds, you can access your online filing guide to enter your figures on HMRC’s website yourself.

The £49 upfront and £149 guided offers are charged through Stripe Checkout before work starts. On the £49 offer, payment opens the document and questions journey. On the £149 offer, payment starts our guided preparation and we contact you about your statements. You submit your return to HMRC yourself.

We do not wait for HMRC to pay you before we charge. No estimate is a promise of an HMRC refund. The full-fee refund promise for the two upfront offers is set out below.

Your refund is always paid directly to your own bank account by HMRC. Quibo never receives your refund and never nominates itself to be paid on your behalf. The money goes to you.

Your right to cancel (14 days)

You can cancel within 14 days of placing your paid order without giving a reason. We refund the full Quibo fee even if you asked us to start work immediately. We do not deduct the value of work done in that period.

After 14 days, you can still cancel for a full refund before you open your filing guide on the standard and £49 journeys. On the £149 guided offer, you can cancel for a full refund before we provide your completed return figures and filing guidance. These extra promises do not reduce your statutory rights if our service falls short.

For either upfront offer, we also refund your full Quibo fee if your records show you are not eligible for a CIS return. If HMRC's final decision on the return is no refund, or a refund smaller than your Quibo fee, we refund your full Quibo fee. This is a refund of our fee, not a guarantee that HMRC will pay a refund.

To cancel or claim a fee refund, email hello@quibo.co.uk from the address used for your case. For an HMRC outcome claim, include the decision showing the refund amount; you may redact tax identifiers. We review the request and return any refund due to the original payment method. For a cancellation within 14 days, we issue the refund without undue delay and within 14 days of your notice.

Limitation of liability

Quibo helps you prepare and file your claim, but you are responsible for your own filing and for the accuracy of the information you submit to HMRC. You should review everything before you file. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the outcome of your claim, for any HMRC decision, or for losses arising from inaccurate or incomplete information you provide. The fee-back promise above still applies. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
